This book is the result of coordination by the Centre de recherches sur le droit public (CRDP) of the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, and brings together nearly sixty authors, both academics and practitioners, who report on their work, in the form of seventy-one cards classified in alphabetical order (from A as "Advocacy" to V as "Voluntary sales of furniture at public auctions"), of the richness of this "concept-value" that is regulation, to use the expression of Jean-Bernard Auby, who prefaces the work and points out that this is the first systematic work on the subject in France. In fact, the richness of the subject is expressed through the vast thematic field covered: in addition to the fact sheets devoted to the very notion of regulation from different angles (including comparative law) and the major economic and legal concepts it uses, the fact sheets also analyse the players (sectoral authorities and judges) as well as the tools and areas of regulation, as well as the competitive and financial aspects. At the beginning of the book, three different ways of reading the dictionary are proposed, depending on whether one wishes to understand it as a manual, as a tool for the practitioner or as a theoretical reflection. It is clear that everyone can find it interesting to read. There is also no doubt that the card format will allow for updating and enrichment, why not on an annual basis.
