The Vilnius District Administrative Court reopens the "Gas saga" by sending alleged abuse of dominance of the gas supplier incumbent back to the Lithuanian Competition Authority for reinvestigation (Akmenes energij / Lietuvos dujos)

On 7 November 2007, the Vilnius District Administrative Court (VDAC) ordered the Competition Council to reinvestigate the earlier closed case of the suspected Article 9 (equivalent to Article 82 EC) infringement by AB Lietuvos dujos (LD), a natural gas supplier. The Court's judgment represents the latest development in the long-lasting “gas saga” that started back in 2005. To recap, in June 2005, the Competition Council rejected the complaints of two local heat-supply companies, UAB Akmenës energija and UAB Ukmergës energija, accusing LD - a former gas monopoly currently under joint control of Gazprom, E.ON Ruhrgas and the State
