WELCOME AND INTRODUCTORY REMARKS
Benjamin Bowling (Acting Executive Dean of King’s College London), delivered the welcoming speech and started the conference by illustrating briefl the work of the Dickson Poon School of Law, underlining its engagement and commitment to provide excellence in higher education at the global level. After thanking both the organisers and the audience, Professor Bowling introduced the speakers of the conference, leaving the floor to Professor Richard Whish.
Richard Whish (Professor King’s College London) opened the proceedings of the fist conference organised by King’s College in collaboration with Concurrences in London. Professor Whish commented on the incredible change in the world economy we are experiencing, noting that, until recent times, he had never doubted that whatever challenges presented themselves, the existing pillars of competition law were capable of dealing effectively with them. With the current digital revolution, there might be a chance that the existing Tools are not fully adequate to capture new conducts.
