Welcome back to our series of Great Antitrust Lawyers, done by Concurrences. We are very happy and proud to have you, Gönenç, today. Gönenç, you have quite an exceptional career in antitrust. We started at about the same time maybe practicing law and studying. You have studied abroad in Great Britain, Turkey, and other countries, Harvard, I believe, and you’ve been practicing law with various law firms, and then you founded the ELIG Gürkaynak law firm in Turkey.

Gönenç Gürkaynak

That’s correct.

Nicolas Charbit

You are now one of the leading — the leading, I would say — Turkish antitrust law firms, and we are very happy to have you today for this interview.

Gönenç Gürkaynak

Thank you. Very kind of you. I’m truly honored to be chosen for this panel. It’s very interesting that the great antitrust lawyers are being interviewed for inspirational pieces that they want to pass on to younger people, and I think you’re doing a wonderful thing, and I’m happy to be a part of it.
