SYNTHESIS

Dirk Buschle moderated the discussion. Hydrogen is one of the signature fuels of the Green Deal, switching to hydrogen, unlike the switch to coal in the Industrial Revolution, is not primarily motivated by economic reasons but rather political reasons. Because of the magnitude, it is also a pan-European rather than a national endeavor and requires behavior about which competition and state aid enforcers are normally suspicious: cooperation and subsidization.
