SYNTHESIS

Richard Taffet pointed out that in the last year and a half or so, significant changes in the competitive environment involving the financial sector can be identified. These include the development of technology, the recognition of new competition from non-banks, the adaptation of banks to the 21st century and the need for new technological tools and products, and the introduction of new currencies such as bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Makan Delrahim has paid particular attention to these developments over the past year and a half.
