The Polish President of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection fines an operator and ten distributors for vertical price collusion with respect to trailer accessories (Knott)

Decision On 15 December 2009, the President of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (the ”OCCP”) fined Knott Sp. z.o.o. (“Knott”) and its ten distributors for vertical price collusion with respect to trailer accessories (such as axles, overrun couplings, jockey wheels, brakes and cables). Knott is a producer of accessories for trailers which are either sold directly to trailer manufacturers or distributed through a number of small distributors, including a special category of authorised service undertaking. Depending on the particular type of accessories Knott's market share is between 10 % and 40 %. All distributors also offer products of Knott's direct competitors. Since 2006, there was no agreement in place between the producer and its distributors and the deliveries
