Introduction The Romanian Competition Council (“RCC”) published in June 2014 a set of decisions concerning an alleged cartel on the market for the commercialization of electrical and electronic equipment (“EEE”) and the market for waste management of EEE ("RCC Investigation"). The RCC Investigation involved a significant number of companies, i.e. more than 30 different EEE producers, importers and retailers, as well as two collective waste management organisations organized as trade associations, to which EEE traders transferred their legal environmental obligations regarding the management of waste electric and electronic equipment (“WEEE”).
