On 24 September 2020, the Court of Justice (“ECJ”) rejected the Italian power-cable manufacturer Prysmi- an’s appeal against the € 104.6 million fine imposed on it by the Commission in 2014 for its involvement in the Power Cables cartel case. The ECJ upheld the earlier ruling by the General Court (“GC”) confirming Prysmian’s liability for the whole duration of the cartel and also rejected Prysmi- an’s arguments that the Commission had been wrong to take copies of unexamined evidence during a dawn raid, which was inspected at a later stage at the Commission’s own offices.
