The Turkish Competition Authority approves the sole control acquisition of several resorts in the hospitality sector (MP Hotel)

This case summary concerns an analysis of the Board’s MP Hotel decision, in which the Board evaluated the acquisition of sole control over the (i) Magic Life Water World Imperial (“ Magic Life ”) in Antalya, (ii) TUI Blue Marmaris (“ TUI ”) in Muğla, (iii) Bodrum Imperial in Muğla, and (iv) Alaçatı Beach Resort in İzmir, by MP Hotel Management Turizm İnşaat Yatırım Ticaret A.Ş. (“ MP Hotel ”). The Board unconditionally approved the notified transaction by evaluating that the transaction would not result in the creation or strengthening of a dominant position in the relevant product markets in Turkey, and, in any case, it did not have an appreciable effect or likelihood to impede competition in the relevant product markets in Turkey.
