The Moldovan Competition Authority identifies anticompetitive actions of the public authorities in the international passenger transport market (AutoInterBus-Tur / Ministry of Transports and Road Infrastructure / Moldtrans-Tur / Eurolines Moldova)

On 4 November 2011 the Moldovan Competition Authority (ANPC) [1] held that the actions of the Ministry of Transports and Road Infrastructure (MTID) [2] led to restriction of competition on the market for international passenger transport. The ANPC’s investigation commenced on 29 July 2010 following the complaint lodged by the international transports company S.R.L. “AutoInterBus-Tur” (AIBT) against the MTID and two other transports companies: S.R.L. „Moldtrans-Tur” (M-Tur) and S.R.L. “Eurolines Moldova” (Eurolines). In relation to the MTID, the applicant argued that by annulling its initial decision granting to AIBT the right to open and operate international bus route Chisinau-Hamburg the MTID restrcited competition on the relevant market and deprived AIBT from its right to engage in
