By the decision of 6 October 2020 No. DKK-178/2020 (“Decision”) and after a two-year formal investigation the Polish Competition Authority [1] (“PCA”) finalized its action against Nord Stream 2 project and imposed fine of PLN 29,075,726,808 (ca. EUR 6.4 billion) on PJSC “Gazprom” (“Gazprom”). In the same Decision the PCA sanctioned the other five companies: Engie Energie with PLN 55,513,793, Uniper with PLN 29,913,407, OMV with PLN 87,748,906, Shell with PLN 30,220,135 and Wintershell with PLN 30,785,804. The fines correspond to 10% of the annual turnover of each company which is the maximum limit admissible under the Polish Act of 16 February 2007 on the Competition and Consumers Protection [2].
