The EU General Court rejects a rival’s claim and gives the green signal for an acquisition in the communications services market (Microsoft / Skype)

By its decision dated 11 December 2013, Luxembourg based European General Court approves the acquisition of Skype by Microsoft. [1] Background On 02.09.2011 the EU Commission was notified of a proposed concentration by which, Microsoft Corporation, USA acquired 100% of the outstanding shares and therefore sole control over Skype Global S.a.r.l, Luxembourg.
