The Luxembourg Parliament enacts the 2011 Competition Act

1. On 30 June 2011, the Luxembourg Parliament (chambre des députés) has adopted a new Competition Act (loi relative à la concurrence). It is not excluded that it will have to pass a second vote round in Parliament but this is considered to be a formality. It will enter into force four months after its publication in the Luxembourg official journal (Mémorial). 2. The new Competition Act leaves the material provisions on cartels and abuse of dominance unaffected of the 2004 Competition Act (loi du 17 mai 1994 relative à la concurrence) and simplifies the legal framework defining the circumstances under which the Luxembourg State can impose price control measures. 3.
