The French Competition Council fines a Belgian chocolate manufacturer for having imposed resale price maintenance for sales to works committees (Jeff de Bruges)

By a decision dated January 27, 2007, the French Competition Council fined the Belgian chocolate manufacturer Jeff de Bruges for fixing retail prices concerning chocolate sales to works committees. The Belgian company Jeff de Bruges specializes in the distribution of chocolates and other various chocolate candies. Its distribution network is organized throughout subsidiaries and franchises. On the French market, the market share of Jeff de Bruges amounted to 9,30% for the year 2005, divided between three companies: Jeff de Bruges Diffusion for the franchise activity, Jeff de Bruges Exploitation for the subsidiaries and Jeff de Bruges SAS for the overall manufacturing, supplying and distribution
