Introduction The Romanian Competition Council (the “RCC”) recently finalized an investigation in the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment market. In Romania, the waste markets are relatively new markets developed after Romania became a member of European Union and implemented the relevant European package legislation. Background In March 2011, following a complaint submitted by GreenWeee International SA (“GreenWeee”), the RCC launched an investigation in order to assess whether the practices of one of the collective system association active on the market, i.e. Environ Association (“Environ”), had as effect the restriction of competition in the relevant investigated markets.
