The Indian Competition Authority continues to require electronic filing of merger notifications and announces further delays of notification deadlines due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Measures in view of threat of CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 pandemic*

In continuation to the public notices issued on March 23, 2020, March 30, 2020 and April 13, 2020 wrt "Measures in view of threat of CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 pandemic", the following additional arrangements are made:

  1. Information with respect to the provisions of Sections 3 and 4 of the Competition Act, 2002 may be filed electronically at atdregistry@cci.gov.in;
  2. Combination notices may be filed electronically at comb.registry@cci.gov.in;
  3. The fee in respect of the above filings shall be paid through Electronic Clearance Service by direct remittance to the Competition Commission of India (Competition Fund), Account No. 1988002100187687 with Punjab National Bank, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi - 110066. Soft copies of proof of payment / confirmation of credit shall also be attached. Dates for filing hard copies shall be notified in due course;
  4. Parties to combination may avail pre-filing consultation (PFC) through video conference. Request for PFC shall be made at cci-consult@nic.in. Thereafter, the combination registry will email a web link which can be accessed by the parties from anywhere.
  5. The Commission would endeavour to process the new and pending cases subject to the availability of necessary information and material.
  6. For all the matters listed for hearing up to May 03, 2020, fresh date(s) will be notified; and
  7. For all other compliances due up to May 03, 2020 in respect of pending cases (Sections 3 & 4) (before the Commission and the DG), fresh dates will also be notified.
