The Romanian Competition Authority releases its 2011 annual report

On 25 May 2012 the Romanian Competition Authority (CC) [1] has released for public consultation its 2011 annual report. Present note shall focus exclusively on competition enforcement activities carried out by the CC in 2011 without addressing its activities related to the state aids control, competition advocacy, international cooperation, etc. The year of 2011 in Romanian antitrust enforcement was characterized by the pro-active stance taken by the competition authority in relation to the investigation and prosecution of the competition law infringements. The number of investigations launched by the CC in 2011 was slightly higher in comparison to the year of 2010 and reached the number of 27 (24 of them concerned potential infringements while 3 were market inquiries), out of which
