The Bulgarian Competition Authority issues guidelines on commitments

On 9 February 2010 the Bulgarian Competition Authority (CPC) [1] issued the Guidelines on assessment of commitments under competition law (the Guidelines) [2], which contain substantive and procedural rules on presentation, assessment and acceptance of commitments within the framework of investigations concerning possible infringements of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU. The authority of the CPC to accept commitments is derived from the Article 5 of the Regulation 1/2003 [3] and Article 75 of the Bulgarian competition law. The adoption of these guidelines was one of the priorities set in the CPC's 2009 Annual Report and were aimed at increasing the overall effectiveness
