The Spanish Competition Authority closes investigation against a tonic water company following submission of competition commitments in a case related to restrictions of parallel trade (Schweppes / Red Paralela)

The NMCC has closed with commitments an investigation against Schweppes, S.A. related to restrictions of parallel trade. The Coca-Cola group and Orangina Schweppes Holding B.V. (OSHBV) share the ownership of the Schweppes trademark in the EU. Coca-Cola owns the Schweppes trademark in the UK and ten other EU Member States, whereas OSHBV owns, through its subsidiaries, the trademark in Spain and in 20 other countries, 1 6 of which are EU Member States: Schweppes, S.A., is the exclusive licensee
