Media and Antitrust: An overview of EU and national case law
1. Introduction
This area raises many interesting and complex competition law and policy questions, in particular given the fast moving nature of the sector, and the interplay between competition and other public interest issues, such as media pluralism and net neutrality.
The sector remains very topical at both the EU and national level, as highlighted by the number and variety of the cases selected by e-Competitions for this special issue, and provides ample scope for comparisons between the approaches taken in various jurisdictions. EU and national comparisons are particularly interesting and useful in a context where many of the products/services in question are (or could be) cross-border in nature, and where a divergence of approach between regulators could cause significant
