The Budapest Sports Arena (BSA), a 12,000 seating capacity, state of the art, multifunctional sports and entertainment complex was first opened to the public in March 2003. It was built on the place of the Budapest Sports Hall, which was completely destroyed in a devastating fire five years earlier. Since its opening, BSA has become Hungary's most popular venue of rock concerts where Paul McCartney, Britney Spears, Cher, Robbie Williams and many other world famous pop singers entertained a completely sold out house, and hosted many international exhibitions and sports events like the 2004 European Figure Skating Championship.
