The Moldovan Competition Authority investigates the actions of the municipal administration concerning allocation of business premises (Chişinău Municipal Council)

On 26 September 2013 the Moldovan Competition Authority (CC) [1] has concluded an investigation into the alleged anti-competitive actions of the Chişinău Municipal Council (CMC) [2] – a legislative body of the municipal administration of Moldova’s capital city. The CC’s investigation was prompted by a complaint submitted by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) [3] alleging that by obliging the regional office of ANSA in Chişinău to lease some of its business premises to SRL Vig Vet, an undertaking engaged as a provider of veterinary inspection services, the CMC has accorded privileged treatment to the said undertaking thus placing its rivals at a competitive disadvantage.
