The Croatian Competition Authority released its annual report

On 14 September 2009 the Croatian Competition Authority (Agencija za zaštitu tržišnog natjecanja) (AZTN) released its 2008 Annual Report where it summarized its law enforcement and related activities carried out in 2008. One of the major developments of the Croatian competition law enforcement was the adoption of the new competition law, which will be enforced by the AZTN from 1 October 2010. The adoption of the new law pursued two primary aims : 1) further harmonization of the Croatian competition law with the EC standards; and 2) improving the effectiveness of the competition law enforcement by enhancing the powers of the AZTN and streamlining the procedural rules for adoption of the administrative decisions and their review the courts [1].
