The EU Commission publishes a staff working document that summarises the findings of its evaluation of procedural and jurisdictional aspects of EU merger control

On 26 March 2021, the European Commission ("Commission") published a Staff Working Document that summarises the findings of its evaluation of procedural and jurisdictional aspects of EU merger control. The Commission has also adopted a communication providing guidance on the application of the referral mechanism set out in Article 22 of the EU Merger Regulation ("EUMR"), accompanied by the launch of an Inception Impact Assessment on exploring further targeting and simplification of merger procedures.
