The Belgian Competition Authority switches completely to teleworking due to COVID-19 and invites companies to delay all non-urgent mergers

COVID-19 measures*

The offices of the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) are closed until further notice.

All staff members are teleworking and the handling of cases will continue.

While we strive to ensure the continuity of public service, the containment measures imposed by the Government may have an impact on our ability to handle merger cases with our usual diligence. In particular, the gathering of information from the parties and third parties will be more cumbersome.

We invite companies to delay any project of concentration that is not urgent.

If you have any questions regarding cases under investigation or any new cases, please contact per mail VĂ©ronique Thirion, Competition Prosecutor General, (veronique.thirion@bma-abc.be) or Nathalie Sterckval, responsible for the secretariat of the President and the Investigation and Prosecution Service (nathalie.sterckval@bma-abc.be).
