The Hungarian competition authority accepts commitments from the lawyer’s Bar on registration fees (Békés Megyei Ügyvédi Kamara)

The Hungarian competition authority, the Gazdasági Versenyhivatal (GVH) accepted commitments from the lawyer's Bar of Békés Megye (Békés Megyei Ügyvédi Kamara; further on: BMÜK). The GVH initiated the investigation on 7 May 2007, because it was thought that the BMÜK with the imposition of procedural fees for registration and with the decision 34/2006 (XII. 15.) of the Presidency of BMÜK infringed Article 11 (2) f) and g) of the Hungarian competition act (HCA). Article 11 is the respective national provision for Article 101. Article 11 (2) f) prohibits practices which hinder market entry, while Article 11 (2) g) practices where, given transactions of the same value or character, there is discrimination between trading
