With a II-Phase conditional clearance decision, the Italian Competition Authority (ICA) has closed the review of the merger notified in the Rami Distribuzioni case [1]. The ICA had concerns that the merger might negatively affect competition in the market for the distribution of natural gas. Accordingly, it made the approval of the transaction conditional upon the implementation on the part of the merging parties of suitable remedies.
