The Spanish Competition Authority fines shipping companies with a total amount of € 88,5 M for participating in a cartel in the passenger and cargo maritime transport market between the Spanish peninsula and Morocco (Compañía Trasmediterránea, Europa Ferrys SA, Cenargo España, SLU...)

The Council of the CNC has fined six shipping groups over € 88.5 million for having participated in a cartel in the market of the maritime transport between the Spanish Peninsula and Morocco and between 2002 and 2010. On March, 15, 2011, the Investigations Division of the Spanish Competition Authority (Comisión Nacional de la Competencia,CNC) started a formal proceeding (S/0331/11) against the following companies: Compañía Trasmediterránea,SA, Europa Ferrys SA, Cenargo España,SLU, Ferrimaroc,SA, Balearia Eurolíneas Marítimas,SA, Euromaroc 2000, SL, Förde Reederei Seetouristik Iberia,SL (FRS Iberia, SL), Förde Reederei Seetouristik Maroc SARL (FRS Maroc, SARL), International Maritime Transport Corporation, SA (IMTC), Compagnie Maritime Marocco-Norvegiènne,S.A.R.L. (COMARIT), Líneas Marítimas
