The European Commission fines 11 air cargo carriers more than € 799 M for price-fixing cartel (Airfreight cartel)

On 9 November 2010, the Commission announced its decision to fine eleven air cargo carriers a total of € 799,445,000 for their involvement in a worldwide price-fixing cartel in the airfreight services sector. Air cargo carriers provide their services to freight forwarders, who arrange the carriage of goods including associated services and formalities on behalf of shippers. While the Commission’s decision has not yet been published, a press release describes the Commission’s main findings:
