The EU Commission clears subject to divestments the merger between two German chemical companies (BASF / Cognis)

Main developments between 1 September and 31 December 2010* On 30 November the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of Cognis by BASF, both of which are German chemical companies. The decision is conditional upon the divestment of activities in the sector of hydroxy monomers, a chemical product used in coatings and adhesives.
