The mobile telecommunications market in Ireland has been consistently dominated by two key players, Eircom and Vodafone with Meteor, a third operator, featuring in a distant third position. However, despite Eircom's overall superior position on the mobile telecommunications market, it lags behind Meteor to a certain extent in the post-paid mobile phone sector.
