The Belgian Competition Authority unconditionally clears the acquisition of mobile telecommunications operator by its competitor (Mobile Vikings / Proximus)

On 31 May 2021, the Competition College (Mededingingscollege / Collège de la concurrence) of the Belgian Competition Authority (Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit / Autorité belge de la Concurrence - BCA) unconditionally cleared the acquisition of mobile telecommunications operator Mobile Vikings NV (Mobile Vikings) by Belgium’s incumbent telecommunications operator Proximus NV (Proximus). Proximus offers a full range of electronic communications services at both wholesale and retail level, including fixed and mobile telecommunications, voice and data services, primarily in Belgium.
