The Israeli Antitrust General Director intends to declare two seaports companies ’an oligopoly’ (Ports of Haifa and Ashdod)

On May 16, 2013, according to a press release published by the Antitrust Authority (the "Press Release"), the Restrictive Trade Practices General Director (the "General Director") informed the Ashdod Port Company Ltd. and the Haifa Port Company Ltd., the governmental companies operating the Israeli ports of Ashdod and Haifa, respectively (the "Port Companies") of his intention to declare them, subject to a hearing process, members of 'an oligopoly' in supply of container loading and unloading services (the "Declaration").
