The Bulgarian Competition Authority approves commitments in a case of alleged abuse of dominant position (MPT / SP Dina)

By a decision of 22 May 2012 the Commission on Protection of Competition (the “CPC”) approved proposal for commitments (the “Commitments Decision”) by a bus station operator in the framework of an investigation for abuse of dominant position by way of application of different provisions to customers. The Parties “Municipal Passenger Transportation” EOOD (“MPT”) is a company solely owned by the Municipality of the city of Gabrovo. The municipality has granted a license to MTP to operate the only bus station in the city, which has the characteristics of an essential facility. MPT is the sole provider of bus station services and holds a dominant position on the respective services market. Sole Proprietor “Iliyan Dimitrov – Dina” (“SP Dina”) is a company that carries passenger bus transportation
