The European Commission clears an acquisition in the market for navigable digital maps (TomTom/Tele Atlas)

"Mergers: main developments between 1 May and 31 August 2008"* In May the Commission approved the proposed acquisition of Tele Atlas by TomTom, both of the Netherlands. Tele Atlas is a provider of navigable digital maps and TomTom produces portable navigation devices (PNDs — often known as satellite navigation devices or SatNavs).
