The Ukrainian Parliament adopts new merger control rules

On 18 March 2016, a law amending the Ukrainian merger control rules was published. It becomes effective on 18 May 2016 – in 2 months following its publication. I. Key takeaways: Below are the main changes: (i) improvement of notifiability thresholds; (ii) removal of market share-based (35%) threshold; (iii) introduction of a simplified procedure for certain concentrations; (iv) introduction of pre-notification contacts; (v) clarification of rules on remedy proposals; (vi) increase of filing fees.
