The Netherlands: Market Study on Estate Agents finalised* On 8 March 2012, the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) published its final report on competition among estate agents who provide home buying and selling services. The study examines the current competitive situation as well as the development of the prices of estate agents and homes and the selling services from 2000 onwards. The market study was triggered, inter alia, by signals that this market is not functioning well and the recent drop in sales of homes in the Netherlands caused by the financial crisis.
