The Spanish Competition Authority clears second-phase merger in the payment processing sector subject to commitments (REDSYS / REDY)

The merger of Redsys Servicios de Procesamiento (RESDYS) and Redes y Procesos (REDY), two payment processing companies was notified to the NCC on 16 August 2010. The NCC decided on October 2010 to open phase 2 proceedings because it took the view that the operation could hinder the maintenance of effective competition on the Spanish markets for the provision of card payment processing services and card
