The UK Government extradites former CEO to United States following failure of final appeal (Ian Norris)

On 23 March 2010, Ian Norris, the former CEO of Morgan Crucible plc, was extradited to the United States by British authorities to stand trial on charges of obstructing the course of justice in connection with an antitrust investigation conducted by the US Department of Justice (“DOJ”). The charges against Mr. Norris relate to the involvement of his former employer Morgan Crucible in a cartel affecting carbon products and, specifically, to Mr Norris’s alleged attempts to conceal and destroy evidence relating to the cartel and to mislead DOJ investigators.
