The EU Commission clears, subject to divestiture, an acquisition of a company active in the healthcare services by a private equity funds (APW / APSA / Nordic Capital / Capio)

"Merger control: Main developments between 1 January and 30 April 2007"* On 16 March the Commission approved the proposed acquisition of joint control of Capio AB, a Swedish provider of healthcare services, by the private equity funds Apax Partners Worldwide LLP (“APW”) of the UK, Apax Partners SA (“APSA”) of France and Nordic Capital of the Channel Islands. The Commission’s decision was conditional upon the divestiture by Capio AB of most of its UK subsidiaries.
