Introduction On 16 of June 2020, the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition (the “Commission”) delivered a decision concerning a complaint filed by E.C. Kyrillou Eyecare Ltd against and D.S. Demetriou Enterprises Limited, in relation to an alleged infringement of Article 3 and Article 6 of the Competition Protection Laws of 2008 and 2014 (the “Law”) which prohibits practices that prevent, restrict or distort competition within the Republic of Cyprus and the abuse of a dominant position or relationship of economic independence. To this effect, the Commission unanimously decided that there was no infringement by Redex Ltd and D.S. Demetriou Enterprises Ltd of Article 3 and Article 6 of the Law for reasons explained herein.
