The Moscow Federal Arbitration Court upholds the decision of the Competition Authority prosecuting two petroleum companies for concerted price coordination (Gazpromneft Kuzbass / Tomsknefteprodukt)

On 9 April 2008 Russian Competition Authority (FAS) found two petrochemical companies ZAO “Gazpromneft Kuzbass” (Gazpromneft Kuzbass) [1] and OOO “Tomsknefteprodukt” VNK (Tomsknefteprodukt) in violation of the national provision equivalent to Article 81 EC [2]. Both companies were active on gasoline retail market in the city of Tomsk. Following the monitoring of prices for gasoline products set by the undertakings concerned and their competitors the FAS found that Gazpromneft Kuzbass and Tomsknefteprodukt have coordinated their retail prices over the period July 2007 - January 2008.
