On June 16, 2009 the Canadian Competition Tribunal filed a consent agreement between the Commissioner of Competition and two commercial waste collection firms, Waste Services (CA) Inc. ("WSI") and Waste Management of Canada Corporation ("WM"), to resolve issues raised by contracts each firm used with its respective customers on Vancouver Island, British Columbia [1]. 1. Facts Waste Services (CA) Inc. ("WSI") and Waste Management of Canada Corporation ("WM") are two commercial waste collection firms which use separately and respectively with their customers long-term contracts that included similar terms, such as automatic renewal clauses, liquidated damages and rights of first refusal. WSI and WM are two separate companies which are no explicit or apparent link among them. 2.
