The EU Commission publishes an inquiry aiming at detecting possible competition concerns in the sector of the Internet of Things

On July 16, 2020 the European Commission (“Commission”) launched an inquiry into the sector of the Internet of Things for consumer-related products and services (“IoTs”) in the European Union pursuant to Article 17 of Regulation 1/2003. The inquiry is aimed at detecting possible competition concerns in the functioning of the IoTs markets and determining whether undertakings operating in such markets infringe EU competition rules.
