On 19 July 2017, the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) [1] of the Republic of Moldova has clarified the procedural rules concerning the appointment of the members of the Competition Council (CC) [2] in a case concerning the alleged discrimination at the workplace. [3] The Moldovan Competition Law provides that the Plenum of the CC is a collegial body and consists of five members, including the President and the two Vice-Presidents. [4] The members of the CC Plenum are appointed by the Parliament, at the proposal of the Speaker, with the endorsement of the competent parliamentary commission.
