The Lithuanian Competition Council fines three consulting agencies for collusive tendering in the market for consulting on projects supported by the EU structural funds (Eurointegracijos projektai, EIP Kaunas, EIP Vilnius)

On 10 July 2008 the Lithuanian Competition Council (LCC) passed a decision on three consulting agencies for collusive tendering in the market for consulting on projects supported by the European Union structural funds. UAB Eurointegracijos projektai, UAB EIP Kaunas, UAB EIP Vilnius (together EIP company group), UAB Finsida and UAB Statybų strategija admitted their anticompetitive practice and cooperated with the LCC during its investigation. As a result, the LCC significantly reduced the final fine to LTL 159°000 (approx. EUR 46°000) for all parties in total. The LCC started its investigation after receiving a complaint from the Central Project Management Agency which was responsible for management of programmes and projects, financed by the EU and other international institutions.
