The operation British Sky Broadcasting Group plc (BSkyB) is a holding company for subsidiaries that operate principally in activities relating to television broadcasting and retailing in the UK and Ireland (for example, direct-to-home pay subscription satellite television). BSkyB is also active in various other communications platforms. News Corporation (News Corp) holds a 39.14% stake in BSkyB. ITV plc (ITV) is active in a number of sectors primarily related to television production and broadcasting. ITV distributes its content through a wide range of wholly-owned free to air television channels.
