The Serbian competition authority finds abuse of dominant position in dairy industry (Danube Foods Group)

The Serbian Competition Authority (“Komisija za zastitu konkurencije”) determined in its decision adopted on 25 January 2008, that Danube Foods Group abused its dominant position on the market of raw milk purchase. Danube Foods Group is the owner of several dairy factories in Serbia, namely AD “Mlekara” in Subotica, AD “Industrija mleka i mlecnih proizvoda Imlek Beograd” in Belgrade and AD “Novosadska mlekara” in Novi Sad. The Serbian Competition Authority found that these dairy factories abused their dominant position by imposing unfair trading conditions and applying dissimilar conditions to equivalent transactions with other trading parties, thereby placing them at a competitive disadvantage.
