The operation Terra Firma is one of the UK's largest private equity (PE) fund managers. In September 2004 PE funds controlled by Terra Firma acquired Odeon Equity Co. Limited (“Odeon”), the largest cinema exhibitor in the UK. Odeon has 95 cinemas comprising a mix of multiplex (more than one screen) cinemas and smaller High Street (town centre) cinemas. United Cinemas International (UK) Limited and Cinema International Corporation (UK) Limited (together “UCI”) operate 32 multiplex cinemas in the UK.
